Decorative logs found in gas or pellet appliances are constructed of either a heavy ceramic that feels like stone or light weight ceramic fiber that feels like Styrofoam to the touch. Every appliance has its own specific product that must be used and pattern that must be followed. Failing to do so will cause sooting, delayed ignition, and other performance problems.
