Remotes are commonly used on gas, pellet, or electric fireplaces. They typically have both a hand set that works from about 15′ away and a receiver that is located in the wall or under the appliance. Both typically require batteries to operate and last up to a year. AA, AAA, 9 volt, CR123, CR032, C, or D batteries are all possibilities of what your system may function on.
