The ash pit commonly becomes a trash dump during the construction process. Items such as plastic pipe, 2×4’s, plywood, and trash sometimes needs to be removed. Additionally we commonly find wood concrete forms still in place under the fireplace hearth. There can be enough heat or the opportunity for a hot ember to find its way into this area to cause a fire where it shouldn’t be. We inspect and resolve these issues.
